GEO fundamentals

Generative Engine Optimization — GEO for short — means optimizing brands and content for generative search systems such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity. The goal is for these systems to find a company, understand it correctly, and mention, recommend or cite it in their answers.

More and more people research providers, products and services directly in AI systems instead of scrolling through classic search results. These systems give direct recommendations — if you don't appear there, you lose a growing share of potential customers without ever noticing.

SEO optimizes for rankings and clicks in classic search engines. GEO optimizes for generative systems understanding your brand and including it in the answers they formulate directly. The two are connected — solid SEO foundations help with GEO — but they pursue different goals and partly require different measures.

Primarily ChatGPT (including ChatGPT search), Google AI Overviews and Gemini, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot. The core principles — clear content, consistent information, citable statements — work across platforms.

Brand mentions are references to your brand in AI answers. Share of voice describes what share of the answers to relevant questions your brand claims — compared with your competitors. Both are key metrics in GEO monitoring.

Prompts are the questions users ask AI systems — for example, "Which GEO agency would you recommend?". Because generative answers vary, visibility is measured regularly across many relevant prompts. Individual spot checks aren't meaningful.

Through three levers: first, clear, AI-readable content on your own website that directly answers your customers' questions. Second, consistent company information across external sources (directories, industry articles, comparison sites). Third, topical authority — the systems must be able to clearly associate your brand with a subject area.

Systems with live web search such as Perplexity or ChatGPT search often respond to improved content within a few weeks. Becoming anchored in the model's own knowledge takes longer. Realistically: first measurable effects after 4–12 weeks, reliable results over 3–6 months.

The entry point is the GEO Visibility Audit at 790 € (one-off). Continuous monitoring starts from 690 €/month (GEO Essential), active optimization from 1,490 €/month (GEO Growth). For larger brands and international projects there is GEO Scale from 2,900 €/month. All prices net, plus statutory VAT.

An analysis of a comprehensive set of relevant prompts and up to three competitors: your current brand visibility, the sources mentioned and cited, and initial content gaps — summarized in a compact report with prioritized recommendations and a 60-minute results call.

Essential (from 690 €/month) measures and observes: a broad prompt set, four competitors, a monthly report with recommendations. Growth (from 1,490 €/month) actively optimizes: a significantly expanded prompt set, eight competitors, monthly content gap analyses, two content briefings per month and the optimization of existing core pages.

Recommended: three months for GEO Essential, six months for GEO Growth — visibility in generative systems builds over weeks, not overnight. The audit is a one-off service with no term.

Because the effort depends on the process, data situation, system landscape and integrations — a flat rate would either be calculated dishonestly or carry large risk premiums. After an initial conversation you receive a transparent quote with a clearly defined scope.

AI Solutions & Agents

Software that uses artificial intelligence not just to answer tasks but to carry them out: searching for information, analyzing documents, structuring data, operating systems and triggering follow-up actions — within defined boundaries and permissions. A chatbot replies; an agent works.

It depends on the case. Generic tasks without system access: standard tool. Company-specific processes with your own data, permissions and integrations: custom solution. A middle path often makes sense — a standard model as the base, individually integrated into your processes. An honest analysis belongs at the start.

Processes that occur frequently, follow recognizable patterns and involve a lot of manual work with text, emails or documents. Typical starting points: email classification, document review, quote preparation, research and automated reports.

Data protection is planned in from the start: we clarify which data is processed, where it is processed (EU hosting is possible) and who has access. Roles, permissions and data processing agreements are set up properly — AI solutions can be operated in a GDPR-compliant way.

Model-agnostic — we choose based on requirements, data protection and cost-effectiveness: models from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google, as well as European providers or self-hosted open-source models where the requirements demand it.

Your choice: we hand the solution over to your team fully documented, keep operating and iterating on it ourselves — or a mix of both. The goal is always that you don't remain permanently dependent on us.
